VCU MAIN HOSPITAL - EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EXPANSION & RENOVATION

The project was a three phase occupied renovation that updated and reconfigured the existing Emergency space. Renovating the occupied emergency department required close coordination with the Hospital in order to keep their operations online while the work was completed. The project included rework of the existing HVAC and installation of new VAV boxes and hydronic hot water. New medical gas systems were installed consisting of zone valve boxes, area alarms, headwalls, booms, outlets, and associated wiring in 49 exam and treatment rooms. The plumbing systems installed included waste, vent, and domestic water.
